LTN Global, an innovative and fast-growing live and real-time video transport service provider to the media industry, is looking for a Broadcast Operations Engineer (m/f/div.). LTN Global has patented technology deployed in a global network, with data centers across the US, and in Europe and Asia. We provide transport for both full-time channels and occasional use events in traditional television markets, as well as digital streaming to a variety of platforms worldwide.

Position description

As Broadcast Operations Engineer (m/f/div.) you will be responsible for assisting in managing and carrying out the core functions of the Network Operations Center located in Cologne, Germany, as it relates to production and added-services workflows. The ideal new colleague would understand all services provided by the NOC, interface and cooperate effectively with our NOC locations in the US, and be capable of training new NOC employees on various workflows and platforms. You will manage systems and schedules associated with the NOC and provide virtual support for productions, both as they relate to events and transport customers. In this role, you may be required to work a varied schedule with the possibility of overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage systems and schedules associated with various workflows, equipment, & production
  • Implement new workflows that have been developed and tested
  • Operate a switcher during a live event
  • Provide exceptional support and service to LTN customers
  • Provide real-time customer support, and delegate when necessary
  • Develop rapport with LTN customers and communicate resolution for issues as they arise
  • Log and monitor workflows, and communicate requirements, as necessary
  • Provide guidance and training to new NOC employees
  • Provide polished customer support, touching Linux-based appliances and encoders/decoders, to broadcast and media clients

  • Familiar with unix system administration
  • Familiarity and proficiency with Bash, JavaScript and Python is a plus


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • Substantial experience in LIVE broadcast or digital industry
  • Basic Linux systems experience
  • Referenceable expertise in at least one of the following areas:
  • IP video transport (RTMP, MPEG Transport Stream, NDI, HLS)
  • Live event broadcasts (sports, extreme sports, E-sports, corporate, etc.)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP/IBM)
  • Master Control services (closed captioning, ad insertion, monitoring, recording)
  • Experience utilizing various management tools (i.e. XYTech, Zendesk, Slack, etc.)
  • Experience with industry-standard broadcast equipment is a positive
  • Proficient knowledge of internet protocols and experience troubleshooting in a Linux environment
  • Network Operating Center and customer service experience is a positive
